lindsay and i snuck off for a quick (and very unexpected) adventure south of the border. since she took the new job, and would be going a while w/o a vacation, we took advantage of the situation. that landed us in the path of a tropical storm - that just so happen to hit shortly after we arrived. check one more thing off the list (a.k.a. experience a tropical storm). i must say, 45mph constant winds are pretty intimidating… i can’t imaging the wrath of the category 5 beast rolling through the gulf right now… mother of all.

so after the first 4 days of rain, the sun was a welcome sight. talk about perfect weather. it was really the calm after the storm.

we spent most of our time by the pool reading (well, lindsay was reading, i was studing - see below), watching the entertainment staff make fools out of the folks that had fallen victim to all-inclusive tequlia, strolling down the beach - which was clothing optional, as i was soon discovered (i was topless for the record), and just enjoying being away from work.

last day, we rented a car and drove to tulum. it was awesome.

the only drag wasn’t the rain, it wasn’t the unattractive half naked people on the beach, or anything else… it was coming back to work. : )
