i was supposed to fly out to “the country” a week ago, but the plane was scheduled for maintenance, no one told me or von, and i drove up there for nothing. it worked out well though, see the post before this one.

the wait was definately worth it. it was a beautiful day - perfect weather conditions, incredible visibility, not much haze… very nice. it was really cool to see all the color below me in the trees over in the hills. it was something else - i caught myself thanking the Lord for the opportunity several times. i threw some of the photos online, so check them out.

one thing more, gingles was right, that airport is definately unique. as i approached it, i thought i was looking at a road, instead of a runway. i snuck it in and then went to taxi back. as i turned off the runway, i realized i had no flippin’ clue where to go - and the taxi way i was starting to turn on to was actually what appeared to be a drive way. i made a bunch of calls as i back-taxied down the runway and then departed out over the lake…

i think i’ll be heading back up there again for sure…
